We are currently talking to a number of Jazz Musicians in Brighton to see what they would want from Brighton Jazz Festival. Do feel free to get in touch via our Facebook page if you want to tell us what you want (if we haven’t talked to you yet).
At the moment it’s looking like there will be several venues spread across Brighton, and we are hoping that each venue will commit at least 5 days to the Festival over the two weekends and one week between (Friday 26th October – Sunday 4th November)
Artist / Bands
Enquiries are coming in thick & fast now and we will shortly be ready to take “early bird” registrations.
How Are You Funding This?
Each act will pay a small sum to register (probably £100 Early Bird, up to £150 for late registrations) with no extra marketing costs. This money will be used entirely for marketing the Festival; graphic design / printing of the brochure, PR, flyers etc. and any other similar costs. We are hoping to secure sponsors for as much as this as possible to keep the registration costs down. We will also take a small % of the ticket sales, which will be processed via our shopping cart and payment gateway. The accounts will be supervised by festival sponsors CCI Accountants in Hove, who look after the Audit for Gay Pride among others.
What’s In It For You?
Apart from the fun of supporting something that can only raise the profile of all the jazz musicians in Brighton you mean?
We are hoping to talk each venue into participating with the acts on a “split of the door” basis however this does mean that you will need to submit an outline of a marketing plan too – how will you help us, the Festival AND the venue to fill your date?
Do you have a mailing list, twitter followers, Facebook friends or a page with lots of “likes”? If not, why not get busy now and you could be ready by October…
Other costs: If a sound engineer is required you will have to provide your own or pay the venue for theirs (usually around £60)
How Do I Say Yay?
Not quite ready to take registrations yet but it won’t be long. Put your name and email in the VIP Mailing list box top right there to get notified when we are ready for you.
